Not sure what she wants to do with her life, 26 year old Kiriko decides to go to university!
TL;DR Review
This was such a lovely read! I loved Kiriko and Shin’s dynamic so much, I just can’t wait to see how they continue to grow both separately and as a couple! Kiriko feeling out of place at university as she’s older than her classmates felt very realistic, so it was lovely watching Shin quell her discomforts.

Series Description
After losing the only job she’s ever had, 26 year old Kiriko decides to head to university. As she doesn’t know what she wants to do with the rest of her life, 4 years of self-discovery spent in Tokyo are exactly what she needs.
Once she makes the move, she quickly encounters 20 year Shin, a Tokyo-native who is no doubt popular with women. But as soon as he meets Kiriko, he is hooked on her.
Though he doesn’t blink at her age gap, Kiriko feels like a fish out of water, being older than everyone in a completely new environment. Will she be able to move past her anxieties and enjoy her new life in the big city?
Review – Spoilers for Volume One

Oh, I just loved this so much! I fell in love with Shin the moment he was introduced! From saving her from an AV audition proposition to reminding her that just like all of her classmates, she is experiencing university for the first time, he’s always there to help her. He just screams reliable, but there’s a hint of mischievousness behind his calm and casual disposition.
Although he quickly attached himself to Kiriko, their relationship never felt forced or unnatural. Rather, it felt like watching a man try really hard to pursue someone he’s interested in! Kiriko has her walls up somewhat high due to her age-related sensitivities, so their relationship has a lot of push and pull.
In this volume, we’re introduced to personal problems both of them are suffering with. Kiriko feels the effects of being older than everyone, thus making social situations a little bit awkward. Shin’s situation is a little more complicated, with him claiming to have absolutely no interest in himself. To the point of up and changing university programs from something that would have led him to have a prestigious career. As Shin is a more go with the flow type of character, he isn’t all that quick to divulge personal information.
From here on out, I’m sure that Kiriko will be able to slowly get used to her new life, but I’m worried about Shin! Hopefully, his relationship with Kiriko will allow him to do some self-healing of his own.
My Favourite Parts of This Volume
💙 Shin taking off Kiriko’s earing for her when she fell asleep on him, and not being the slightest bit upset when she got too drunk on him.
💙 Shin helping Kiriko learn how to navigate the crowded street of Tokyo before the two of them officially met—he really comes off as a genuinely nice person!
💙 The two of them having ~very~ different answers when asked if they’re dating.
💙 Shin ~not accepting~ Kiriko’s excuse that she mistook him for her family pet.
💙 The entirety of the bench scene!
