This series is brand new, with just two chapters out in Japanese.

What’s the series about? (chapter one spoilers!)

The life of a ballerina is not joke—stretching, strength training, and dancing for hours on end are an expected everyday habit. For Cosette, being able to do this every day is a dream come true. As a lover of ballet, all she wants is to grow competent enough that she is granted a spotlight role in the Flower Waltz this year. Sadly, no matter how much she works, she is unable to improve.

One day, a beautiful new girl is spotted touring the ballet school—will she be the trigger that allows Cosette to break from from her slump?

My thoughts on this chapter

A full colour chapter—what a treat! I have a feeling this may be a story that focuses more on beautiful art than a heavy plot, but there’s nothing wrong with that. The author does a fantastic job depicting the coquette fashion that ballet dancers are known for wearing, and using it to create a dreamy atmosphere. You shouldn’t let all of the cuteness fool you though—Cosette is a serious ballerina.

Throughout the chapter we are shown just how much Cosette works to improve herself. As the cute and fluffy art style may take away from the impact of just how hard Cosette is working, it’s important to really pay attention while reading. She is shown balancing her legs while doing a handstand, and looks good while doing it!

While this chapter was on the short side, it left a very good taste in my mouth—I’m hungry for more! I think this may be my first manga about ballerina surprisingly. I have hopes that this will go on to be a story about female friendships, but I’ll have to read on to know for sure!
