My thoughts on this volume (Spoilers!)

After all the events that have taken place over the past few volumes, Momose and Ichikura are in need of a break. Thankfully this volume gives them just that, as Igarashi’s family invites everyone to take a trip to a hot spring town!
This volume was full of everything I have come to love about this series: romance, comedy, and cute friendships. Things do get a little deep and introspective towards the end, but for the most part this is a very lighthearted volume. As there hadn’t been all that much time for romance these past few volumes due to all the ongoing drama, I was so happy to see Momose and Ichikura finally have a few sweet moments away from all the craziness!
One of my favourite moments from this volume happened in the opening chapter, with Momose internally listing all the things she knows about Ichikura. She worries that she doesn’t know all that much about him, so she spends the chapter observing him a little closer than usual…leading to a very cute end!
We also get to see quite a bit of Sakyou—a delinquent girl who was friends with Ichikura back in his delinquent days—and I have been absolutely loving her! I knew I was going to love her when she was first introduced to the series, and I grow fonder and fonder of her every volume. She is just such a good friend to Momose, you can’t help but come to love her! Not only does she help her find Ichikura decked out in delinquent gear in the previous volume, but she goes off to secretly defend Momose’s honour against some college boys in this volume! She really is the kind of girl you’d want as a best friend.
