Kamemizu Tora’s romance manga about two first loves reuniting 10 years after graduating high school is getting a live action drama adaptation! If you’re a fan of former delinquent romances, I recommend checking this one out.
What’s the series about?
Okaeri, Hatsukoi / おかえり、初恋 is a romance manga about two first loves reuniting after joining the workforce.
At her 10 year high school reunion, a handsome man strikes up a conversation with Yamane. He tells her that his name is Taguchi, and asks her if she wants to slip out with him again. We then cut to the past—this isn’t their first time meeting each other! When they were in high school, Taguchi was a scary but kind delinquent, with piercings and blonde hair. As Yamane was a bit of a loner and Taguchi was a bit of an outcast, they slowly became friends until distance forced them apart.
Now as an adult, the once socially awkward Taguchi is no longer afraid to be bold and confident with his feelings—something hard for Yamane’s shy heart to handle! He’s bottled up all of the things he wanted to say to her and do with her as a teenager, and is making his dreams a reality as an adult. Will Yamane be able to handle the move from friends to something more than that!?
Broadcast Information
This series will have a total of six episodes, and will begin airing on TVer October 8th. It will finish broadcasting October 15th.

The actors
The male lead will be played by Higuchi Kouhei, a perfect casting in my opinion! He has quite a bit of experience in romance roles, so I’m sure he’ll do a fantastic job as the male lead. He will also be playing a supporting role in the upcoming Blue Lock movie! Here’s a little snippet of him in one of his previous roles, the male lead in the drama Koifure:
The female lead will be played by Hayashi Meari. She has quite a diverse acting history, even starring in a horror movie! She certainly has a lot of range, so I can’t wait to see what she brings to this role.
