Though Asahi and Nana have technically been a married couple for three volumes now, they have only recently begun a romantic relationship. This volume introduces two characters both trying to break the couple up for their own selfish reasons—will they be able to last through all the medling?

My thoughts on this volume (Slight Spoilers!)

What do you mean the story is about to end!? To say I was shocked when I saw the author stated they finished writing it was an understatement. I’ve been casually enjoying this series for so long, I just assumed it would go on for a long time!
Thankfully, the relationship progression from complete strangers who got married to married couple who are in that “I like you but it’s awkward” stage has been done beautifully, so I am confident it will end on a good note. The author really has a talent for depicting the way a couple’s relationship changes the more they grow to know and appreciate each other.
Moving on to my review of this volume… I really enjoyed it! Again, I love how we’ve been watching Asashi and Nana’s relationship grow to a point where they can actively rely on each other. While Asahi was clearly struggling with speaking up for herself at the beginning of this volume, that was soon overcome. In Nana’s own words, Asahi is straightforward to a scary degree. While that may make her a bit difficult for strangers to deal with, I would say that’s a good quality for a wife to have—especially to someone who married her the day they met.
The plot in this series continues to take a backseat to Asahi and Nana’s relationship, however there were two integral plot points prevelant in this volume: Asahi and Nana visit Asahi’s family home, and Asahi’s assistant continues to be a jealous bum.
We learn a bit about Asahi’s family dynamic through their impromptu visit, and I quickly understood why she was so eager to marry Nana. Her house, while not abusive, felt incredibly oppressive. I do wish we could see more of her childhood through flashbacks, as I still really don’t understand why her father is so against her being an author.
If this visit wasn’t enough to put Asahi in a slump, not long after they return home does Asahi’s ex-girlfriend come for a surprise visit. (Un)luckily for them, Asahi’s assistant is also present at the time, and takes the opportunity to schedule a…double date? with the four of them. As soon as the idea is brought up, his intentions are made crystal clear—he wants Asahi and Nana to break up, and isn’t against the idea of using a stranger to do it. Nana catches this right away, but sadly Asahi doesn’t
Honestly, even if they were to break up, I can never see her dating that man. Who wishes for someone else’s unhappiness just to fulfill their own fantasy? Honestly I hope his intentions finally become clear to her in the final volume and she fires him.
