After waking up in the body of a heroine on the verge of losing it all, do you trust that the people around you will tell the truth? Or is it safer to figure things out on your own?

My thoughts on this volume
Reine is a character that I should be able to like very easily—she was an otome game enthusiast in a past life, is optimistic in the face of potential danger, and accepts the help of those around her. Even though I should like her, there’s something about her story that feels a little bit lacking.
We’re introduced to her older brother right away, and he quickly became my favourite character of the series. He clearly enjoys teasing Reine, and he’s happy to use her lack of memories as a way to grow close to her. What I don’t like though, is the fact that their stepsister seems to be hell-bent on marrying him. To add to this, the notion of being able to marry him causes strife between the two sisters. While Reine clearly has no intention of marrying her brother, her stepsister doesn’t believe her.
Why did a romantic relationship between siblings (yes, step-siblings are still siblings) have to be included in this story? There are so many other reasons and motivations the step-sister could have for disliking Reine, I’m rather disappointed that a romantic motivation was what stuck. Women can be motivated by non-romantic factors, even in a romance story!
Moving on from this though, I do feel like this is a pretty run-of-the-mill reincarnation reverse harem series. Besides my two complaints, I did overall enjoy the story. Watching Reine try to make connections with who she believed to be potential love interests to boost her magic abilities was fun, and showed just how determined a character she is.
I hope we get to see her continue to be a resourceful character, and that her relationship with her brother stays normal. Please god, let it stay normal.
Things I particularly enjoyed
❤️ Julius immediately using Reine’s lack of memories as a way to get closer to her – it’s clear that he’s very happy that he can finally have a normal relationship with his sister.
🧡 Reine standing up for herself before she really has a chance to get bullied – it eventually helps her gain a new friend! I would have been disappointed if she just sat there at took the bullying that the old Reine had to suffer through.
💛 Arnold – I just love his design and ~kira kira~ness. Please let him be the male lead 😦
💚 Reine slowly making connections with her super powerful classmates – it’s clear that she’s really trying to improve herself, and she’s getting recognized for that.
💛 Reine just naming a man Yoshida when he refuses to tell her his name.
