In volume 7, Colette finally reaches her goal point and is reunited with her sister! Not everything is as straightforward as she thought it would be though, and she’ll need some extra support from Hades to make it out okay.

Do I recommend this manga? Yes! ( this is my favourite series )
Who do I recommend this manga to? Fans of fluffy romance, fans of Greek mythology, fans of strong female leads.
Trigger warnings? There’s a very quick flashback to Karon’s story that may be a little off putting to some, but there’s no gore or anything remotely similar.

Impressions and thoughts
As is the case with just about every volume in this series, SO much happens! I really do love that the story is progressing in various ways, so that I am able to enjoy learning more about not just Hades and Colette, but also the various side characters!
I really enjoyed watching Colette travel back to where she used to live, and have to deal with the consequences of things not being exactly how she left them. A lot of the plot in this series really feels like struggles just about everyone is going to have to go through one day. So, I appreciate the sense of magic behind each scene.
While I do feel like this volume focused more on Colette’s single storyline than Hades or Hades and Colette together, I did still really enjoy it! I’m enjoying watching Colette grow!
What happens? SPOILERS
Hercules picks up Colette on her final leg of her journey, and sees her to her sisters house. On the way, Hercules is recognized for his heroic efforts by various villagers, and Colette makes a stop in the underworld to visit Hades.

Back on earth, Colette is enjoying exploring her old city! She spends quite a bit of time chatting with people that she knew as a child, and eventually makes her way to her now-deceased masters old office… She’s immediately distraught at the sight of it, as it seems to her as though her older sister, Mary, decided to use it as storage once he passed away.
The misunderstanding is soon cleared thankfully, as Mary tells Colette that she decided to use his room as a place to store all of his old things, like a sort of treasure trove. Mary couldn’t bring herself to do anything to the room if she wanted to, so she decided that it would always be the masters room. She also kept all of the items from when Colette was young! They were never thrown away as Colette may have thought, just moved.

Before Colette left on her journey, her older brother, Tan gave her a letter to deliver to Mary. We learn what he wrote in this letter in this volume, and it reveals quite a bit about him! But first, a little backstory.
After Colette left, only Mary and Tan were left to take care of the residents of their village. Tan was chosen to take the place of the old apothecary, and Mary agreed that she would stay to help him. The pressure of filling in these massive shoes was very difficult for Tan, and while he tried his best, he was met with a great deal of resistance from the villagers. All of the stress took a physical toll on him, causing great concern for Mary. They agreed that Mary would take on the roll of caring for their apprecentes, and Tan would take on the roll of fully stepping in as the main apothecary after he took a short vacation to destress. This is why he went to Colette’s village, and why Colette was able to visit Mary.
Now that the backstory is out of the way, in the letter he had Colette deliver to Mary, he proposed! When he gets back to the village, he and Mary will get married. (while they all know each other since they were young, none are actually related, don’t worry.)

In the underworld, Hades and Karon get ready to head up to the heavens for Karon’s check up. Due to Karon’s horrific history with goddesses in the heavens, they’re not exactly keen on returning. However as they need to see a doctor, they don’t have much of a choice.
As they’re waiting to see a doctor, they visit with Hiiragi the nymph as they’re secretly selling the doctors various unneeded items. Karon offers to help Hiiragi sort everything while they wait, and they grow interested in some of the various instruments! Karon picks out a ukulele for themself, and a stringed instrument for Hades. Hades plays some music for Karon, further calming them down until they can see the doctor.

My Favourites
- Hades’ musical talents – After watching Hades play for Karon, Hiiragi makes the comment that while they thought Hades was scary, ” you can tell how the master is by looking at the servants “.
- Mary and Tan’s backstory – I was curious about this for a little while, so I’m glad to finally have been given the answers to my questions!
- Hades listening to Colette’s problems, and not trying to solve them – When Colette is freaking out about everyone’s poor treatment of Mary, rather than telling her what to do, he takes her out to help her think things out for herself.
My Least-Favourites
- Nothing!
