While I didn’t finish the entirety of this series this year, I did read (and love) all of part 1 this year! I had been very hungry for a good horror mystery series and didn’t even know until I found this.

Why I love this manga
Karada Sagashi is such a well written horror mystery, it’s crazy. Well, at least to me it is. I had so much fun reading this, I would read 4 volumes in a row without even realizing at times.
One of the things I love the most about this series is how the mangaka depicts his women characters. I have a really difficult time finding horror manga to read, specifically because a good majority of horror mangaka’s simply cannot write women characters. Or, if they can, they are used as props and given wildly disproportionate bodies to please their male readers. In Karada Sagashi, however, we see none of that! Our MC is a woman, and a very smart woman at that. While she does have her flaws, so do all of the other characters in this story – they all really do feel like actual high school students.
On top of this, the supernatural mystery behind the time loop (yes, a time loop!) also had me very intrigued. All of the different pieces working together had me really wanting to read the whole story as quickly as possible.
Have you read Karada Sagashi?
