My number 5 manga of the year – Futarijime Romantic

This was the shortest manga series that I read this year, totaling only 3 volumes! Because of that, I was able to thoroughly enjoy the whole story all in one sitting! I do think 3 volumes was the perfect amount of volumes to tell the full story, however a little part of me does wish it was longer so that I could enjoy it some more….

Why I love this manga

This was a very short and sweet manga! When I first started to read it, I really wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did by the end. This is the sort of manga that you do have to suspend your disbelief a little bit while reading, as Kuma does do some things that are a little bit ~strange~, however it didn’t stop me from enjoying it at all. If I had only read volume 1, I definitely would not be including this series on the list, as I think this is the sort of story that you need to read from start to finish in order to be able to properly judge it.

At first, I thought that there was absolutely no way I would come to like the main couple as a couple: She comes on way too strong, and he is way too uninterested, so I thought. But, as the two slowly start getting to know each other better, I also found myself slowly start to think “you know, maybe they actually are kind of cute together”. It actually wasn’t until I was halfway through volume 2 that I started to actively enjoy this series, but when I did, I really did.
