What the manga about?

To put it really simply, this manga is about a boy who changes back and forth from human to cat when kissed. A little bit out there, but theres a lot of comedy in the premise!

What happens in volume 1?

Our main character, Erina, is a very cool and poised high school girl – who is a very big fan of cats. Honestly I don’t think her doting over cats is all that weird but moving on.. One day she finds a cat lazing around on her property, and she promptly brings it in to play. When she gives it a kiss, however, it transforms into her ever-stoic classmate, Nekoyama.

When talking about his strange abilities, he is oddly curt – like its a really normal thing? His reasoning is that his bloodline holds the constitution to transform into cats. And with that, the explanation is over.

He chooses Elina to be his owner?? (Is he more cat than human??)

Characters

Erina

Erina doesn’t really have much of a personality outside of loving cats, but I think it works for this manga. Its the big driving factor for her taking in Nekoyama after all.

Nekoyama

Nekoyama is very arrogant, and pushy, but his personality does feel very cat-like. When in his human form, his cat-like traits remain, so he doesn’t like things like chocolate, or loud noises.

Maddies Ratings

Plot

Rating: 3 out of 5.

While I do think the plot is incredibly unique, there isn’t much going on besides the cat transformations. I do think it’s set up in a way that it could get very intersting, however!

Characters

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Both main characters are more on the plain side, so I don’t have all that much to say about them.

Art

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Neither extremely good nor bad, what you’d typically expect from a shoujo manga!

Romance

Rating: 1 out of 5.

While they do kiss multiple times in this volume, there is no romance

Lastly

While I didn’t absolutely love this manga, I did like it enough to buy volume 2! I’m interested to see how the plot will grow from here.
