Character introdution
Fio

Fio is a little girl who has a disease which causes her to inadvertently absorb the nutrients of every living thing that enters an arms reach from her.
Noir

Noir is a little boy who came down with a “human eating” illness when he turned 5. This caused his dad to abandon him, leaving him and his mom alone.
He and Fio are next door neighbours, separated by the two gates surrounding their houses.
A lonely boy, and a cute girl

Noir and Fio’s first encounter is so cute! She is having a make-believe tea party by herself, and subsequently gets embarrassed when she realizes Noir is watching.
The difference in the two’s situation is very apparent from their first meeting: Noir is more-so left alone due to his unfortunately cannibalistic nature. While Fio has a nanny who she seems to be very close with. Both suffer from loneliness, however Noir seems to have a more difficult time coping.
Their relationship is very innocent right from the beginning, which leads to a rather bittersweet ending.
An unfortunate duo

As they both have strange diseases keeping them isolated, they decide to befriend each other. Noir claiming he has no qualms with Fio’s absorption disease, so long as she doesn’t hut his mom (poor boy :().
Because Noir has a people-eating illness, he also has to stay a safe distance from Fio for her own protection.
~My thoughts~
I am keeping this review short because the story itself is also short! I really enjoyed this manga, though I do with it dove a bit more into Fio’s background.
While it does have a sad ending, I do like how the story ended without any loose ends, leaving me rather satisfied without any lingering questions.
