My thoughts about this volume

This was such an excellent addition to the series!! We had ample time to learn more about all four of the boys, with two standing out more as potential love interests, and one establishing himself as a very good friend. The fourth boy was a little bit put on the back burner, but he also had his time to shine—though it was shorter than the rest.

I’m hoping that from here, one more boy will be knocked off the “potential male lead” candidate list. We can’t have every volume focusing on every boy, after all. The lead needs ample time to shine!

I’m pretty sure I already know who the male lead is going to be, but I have two favourites – as long as one of them ends up being the lead, I’ll be happy. Thankfully, both of them get some character progression in this volume, but one is still clearly coming out on top.

My favourite part of this volume

For Mia’s birthday, the boys all decided to take her on a trip to help her have a fun celebration. After spending the day together, they brought her to the beach, where each of them gave her a bouquet of flowers! While just receiving flowers would be nice enough, each of the boys clearly put a lot of thought into the flowers they gave her. Each of the boys has their own little moment where they can (kind of) privately give her their flowers, and they tell her the meaning of the flower in flower language!

Other parts of this volume that I enjoyed

❤️ Mia rediscovering her love for ping pong… and her hatred for losing.

🧡 Mia and one of the boys drawing the exact same starry night sky… even with memory loss she still has her memories with him somewhere still deep inside her!

💛 Kei starting to shoot his shot… but not lying to Mia in the process! We love a boy who doesn’t cross boundaries!

💚 All the boys coming together to help celebrate Mia’s birthday, even though they’d much rather spend it alone with her. They’re putting her feelings first!

💛 The revelation that Mia’s parents actually do care about her – normally we see parents abandoning their children so that they’re not a plot hole, so it was nice to see that Mia does still technically have a support system.

🧡 Rivalry ramping up between the boys! Sometimes they’re kind to each other, but there’s always this lingering sense of rivalry that keeps things fun.
