It’s the end of Spring, and you have found yourself deciding to spend a day in the universe of Colette Decides to Die. Don’t think too much into it, this is going to be a peaceful day! Will you go out of your way to try and meet any specific characters? Or will you go with the flow and just see where the day takes you?
Start!
You wake up at 5am in a bed that feels just a little bit too comfortable, in a room that feels a little bit too warm. The excitement that you’re in a new world hasn’t quite hit you yet – after all, it’s 5 in the morning. What do you do first?
- Go back to bed. (go to situation 1)
- ** NOT READY YET** Get ready for the day
Go back to bed – Situation 1
Click me to reveal!
It’s WAY too early for you to even think about what you want to do today. What sane person chooses to get up at 5am when they have the option to sleep in? You fall right back asleep as soon as your head hits your pillow, and you stay asleep until you hear the noise of people outside. What do you do?
- Put the pillow over your head and go back to sleep. (go to situation 2)
- Go to your window and see what’s happening. (go to situation 5)
Put the pillow over your head and go back to sleep – Situation 2

Honestly, isn’t it a little bit rude to cause such a commotion so early in the morning? You make a mental note to ask your neighbours to at least try and stay quiet during the early hours of the morning. You put the pillow over your head to block out both the noise and sunlight now disrupting your precious sleeping hours, and go back to bed. You wake up a few hours later to a knock on your door. What do you do?
- Stay in bed and pretend you’re not home. (go to situation 3)
- Open the door. (go to situation 7)
Stay in bed and pretend you’re not home – Situation 3
Click me to reveal!
You find it rather rude that a stranger should knock on your door, especially when you’re trying to sleep. You’re not familiar with your neighbours, but they should still know better than to assault your door while you’re clearly busy. If it truly is one of your neighbours, you decide that you will ask them what they needed when you decide it’s time to get up. If it’s not one of your neighbours… who cares?
- Go back to bed. (go to situation 4)
Go back to bed – Situation 4

You can finally rest knowing you won’t be disturbed. So, naturally, you decide to hop right back into bed. This time, with no one there to wake you up, you sleep right into the evening. You wake up around 6pm, a little bit confused at how you’ve managed to sleep for about 12 hours in just one day. Your stomach growls – a natural consequence of not eating anything all day. So you head into your kitchen and make yourself dinner. With the day just about done, you decide that there’s no point in headding out now, and fully commit to having a lazy day in your nice little house. You make yourself a post-dinner tea, light your fireplace, and sit down with a cozy blanket and a book you found laying around. You’ve had a pretty relaxing day, despite all of those that tried to disrupt your precious sleep.

Go to your window and see what’s happening – Situation 5
Click me to reveal!
Are the people of this town usually this talkative this early in the morning? You decide that you may as well try to be social during your time here, so you take a peak out of your window to scope out the situation. While you can’t exactly make out what they’re saying, their voices sound rather frantic. You’re curious about what happened, but you would be embarrassed if you were caught spying on your neighbours from your bedroom window. Are you curious enough to brave the outdoors?
- My need for sleep is greater. (go to situation 6)

You decide to temporarily forget about all of this, and hop back into bed. You are rather tired after all, perhaps you’re misunderstanding the situation.

Open the door – Situation 7
Click me to reveal!
You begrudgingly get out of bed and open the door. Standing there, holding a basket full of produce, is Dio! He explains that earlier this morning there was an accident, and your neighbour’s garden got rather destroyed. While he will be helping fix it, he wanted to make amends by cooking a nice dinner for everyone. He wants to know if he can borrow your kitchen for the night. Of course, you’re also invited to the party. What do you say to his proposition?
- Turn him down. (go to situation 8)

Turn him down – Situation 8

You tell him that it’s not your fault that he destroyed your neighbour’s garden, and so, you have no responsibility to help him make amends for it. You go on to remind him that his destroying the garden also disrupted your peace – you missed out on precious sleep! You shoo him off, and head back inside. Now that you’ve gotten rid of the man that was disturbing your peace, you are free to do what you want. So, what do you want?
- Go back to bed. (go to situation 4)

This is too much for you – Situation 9
Click me to reveal!
You take one look at the scene before your eyes, and decide that this is not something you want to deal with today. Who travels worlds to clean up exploded vegetables!? You tell your neighbours that you’re sorry about what happened to their garden, but insist there’s nothing that you can do for them. Before they can say anything in protest you turn right around, and head back to your house.
- Go back to bed. (go to situation 4)
Head outside – Situation 10
Click me to reveal!
Curious, you head outside and make your way towards your neighbour’s house. Not wanting to be rude, you first knock on their door. After no answer, you slowly make your way to their backyard and shout out. Your neighbour’s quickly acknowledge you, and shout for you to head on into the garden. You are now face to face with an elderly couple, two middle aged women, and a young child. You quickly make the assumption that they are all your neighbours, but decide it doesn’t really matter exactly who lives in this specific house. You ask for details on what happened, and are rather surprised by their story.

Who says no to a free meal? You tell him that although you won’t be much help in the kitchen, he is free to use your appliances all he wants. He comes in and gets set up right away. Though you were a little bit uncomfortable with a stranger coming into your house at first, Dio is surprisingly easy to get along with. You set up shop next to him, and watch him cook as you listen to him talk. He tells you different myths and legends that he learnt amongst his travels, and you listen intently until dinner is ready. Just as you’re about to ask him about his favourite place he’s travelled to, there’s another knock at the door. But… you’re in the middle of brewing tea for dinner. What to do…

Have you ever had over-steeped tea? It’s disgusting. The visitor at the door can wait a few minutes. Or not, I guess, as when you eventually open the door, there’s no one there. You ask Dio who he thinks it could have been, but he just smiles and says it’s time to go outside. You agree, put all of your dishes on a tray, and head over to your neighbours.
- Let’s go! (go to situation 23)
Check on your neighbour’s garden – Situation 13

You flirt with the idea of going back to bed again, but decide against it. If the situation was bad enough that it caused you to be woken up twice now, you should probably see it for yourself. After watching the man walk away, you decide to head over to your neighbour’s garden. While destroyed is definitely a word that would be used to describe it, you feel as though electrocuted may be a more accurate description. There were strange markings all over the soil, and some of the almost-grown produce looked as if they all exploded at once from overheating. There are vegetable guts all over the place, and your neighbours aren’t looking all that happy. What should you do?

What happened? – Situation 14

They explain to you that early in the morning, when one of the women was getting ready to tend to the garden, something resembling a lightning bolt came down from the sky, obliterating the field. She also insisted that there was an injured-looking man lying in the field, but by the time she grabbed her first aid kit and ran back out, he was gone. Once the initial shock wore off, she was finally able to see the amount of damage the was caused to the field, and couldn’t figure out where to begin fixing it. She woke up the rest of her family (and you), and brought them outside to survey the damage. Just as emotions were starting to run even higher, a mysterious man appeared. They say the man apologized for the damage, and that he promised to help clean it up… but he disappeared a while ago and hasn’t come back since. You, wanting to be helpful, offer to…

Find the mysterious man – Situation 15

By the description of the mysterious man your neighbours gave you, you understand that it’s Dio rather quickly. You put yourself in his shoes and try to figure out where he went – perhaps a local farmers market? Knowing him, he’s probably trying to make this right, and that can only be done by fixing the garden! So, if he’s not putting in labour at the garden, you assume he’s probably out gathering materials. What’s your best bet at finding him?

It’s rude to keep someone waiting! You ask Dio to pour the tea, and quickly run to the door. Standing there is a man with green hair, who quickly introduces himself as Hermes. He explains that he’s Dio’s brother, and that as he’s partially to blame for the damage, he wants to help make amends. He asks for your preference when it comes to desserts, and you give him a few options. He all but disappears, and you return inside to help Dio get ready to bring everything over.

You realize that the more logical option would be to head to the farmers market, but you’re not quite sure where that is. You ask the elderly couple to point you in the correct direction, and you make your way over. It’s not all that long until you spot him, purchasing a comically large amount of soil. You make your way over to him, and ask him…

Take a walk around the neighbourhood – Situation 19

Judging by what your neighbour’s said, you don’t think it’s been that long since Dio has left. Since you’re not quite familiar with the layout of the town, you decide it’s a safer bet to try and see if you can spot him around the neighbourhood. So, you start to walk, and walk, and walk… until you notice the sun starting to set. With there still being no sign of Dio, you decide to head back to your neighbours house.

He explains that he wants to help repair your neighbour’s destroyed garden, so he’s come to the market in order to buy soil and vegetable starters. While he can’t totally repair the garden, he wants to do all that he can to help. You offer to help him out, so he hands you a few gold coins, and asks you to pick up a wine for dinner. Before you can say anything about not having accepted any dinner invitations, he runs off to another stand in the market. Though you don’t know all that much about wine, you head off to a wine stall and buy the shopkeepers recommendation. You quickly spot Dio again, and the two of you start walking back to town together.

“no” he replies with a smile, and gestures you to the two wheelbarrows behind him. You offer to help him, and he accepts, adding a few more packs of soil to the pile. You ask if he has any other business in the market, and he tells you that he wants to get some vegetable starters, as well as some wine for dinner that night. You accompany him throughout all of his shopping, and the two of you head back to your neighbours house, much more friendly that you had started.

Let’s go eat! – Situation 22

You bring everything over to the neighbour’s garden, and everyone quickly grabs a dish and sits down. Though the garden itself is rather destroyed, thankfully the seating area remains rather undisturbed. Dio is a wonderful chef, as evident by everyone too busy eating to say much of anything. Your neighbour’s are a little extra kind to you, grateful that you lent your kitchen to Dio. They start asking you various questions in order to get to know you better, and you’re having a surprisingly wonderful time. Everyone is just so kind to you, you’re a little bit sad at the fact that you’ll be returning to your own world tomorrow. Of course you don’t reveal this to anyone, and happily engage in conversation with everyone around you.
A few hours later, Hermes appears in the garden holding a bag of desserts. He brought not just one dessert, but every choice you gave him! You eat to your hearts content, and sit back in your chair. As you’re digesting your huge dinner, you listen to Dio and Hermes talk through their plan of restoring the garden.

The two of you start walking together, but it’s an awkwardly silent walk. To break through the silence you try and make some small talk, and are pleasantly surprised by just how approachable Dio ends up being. The two of you talk about a variety of things, and he somehow always finds a way to bring the conversation back to food. You don’t mind much, as you realize that you’re actually quite hungry having not eaten anything yet today. Almost on cue, your stomach starts to growl, and he asks if you have anything in particular you’d like to eat for supper. The two of you talk dinner options until you can no longer curb your curiosity and ask him exactly what happened.
He explains that he is a great cook, that his cooking is how this whole mess started, and how he would like to atone for it as well. While he doesn’t go into full detail, he explains that he was all but forced to cook a meal for his siblings. Though they all were enjoying it, when it reached one of his sisters ears that it was his cooking that she was eating, she went on a rampage. This rampage sadly had a number of casualties, and Dio plans to visit each destroyed property to make things right.

A little bit upset with yourself for not being able to find Dio, you make your way back to your neighbours house. You hear them before you can see them, as they seem to all be having a lovely time together while chatting wildly. Isn’t their garden supposed to be destroyed? Why are they all go happy all of a sudden? You’re a little bit nervous about making your presence known, as you don’t want to interrupt their good time. Do you…

You reach your neighbour’s house, and it looks like there’s a new face amongst the crowd. He comes up to you as soon as he spots you, and he introduces himself as Hermes. Though the situation is still rather dire, Hermes’ precence seems to have lightened things up quite a bit. As everyone is chatting amongst each other, Dio asks if you could lend him your kitchen – he doesn’t want to take up any more space at your neighbour’s house if he doesn’t have to. You agree, and head to your house first to set things up.

While you’re a little bit sad about not being able to join in on the festivites, you decide that it’s probably for the best. You decide to make yourself some dinner and call it a night. Just before you can start cooking though, there’s a knock at your door. You open it to see a slightly drunk looking Dio and a green-haired man standing there. They invite you to come have dinner with them, and you find it a rather difficult invitation to turn down. Not wanting to come empty handed, you decide to bring some fruit that you just so happened to pick while out searching for Dio earlier. You sit down next to your neighbours, and they encourage you to join their conversations. After you finish eating, you all agree to work together to get the garden back to normal starting tomorrow. Though… you’re not quite sure if you’ll even be here tomorrow. You don’t think much about it now though, as you’re too busy enjoying the moment.

By the time you get all of the pots and pans set up, you hear a knock at the door. Not just Dio this time, Hermes has joined him, promising to be helpful in the kitchen. You let them know that although you would like to help, you’re not all that confident in your cooking abilities. They reassure you that allowing them to use your kitchen is more than enough, and ask you to be in charge of making tea for those who aren’t interested in drinking alcohol. You’re not quite sure what they’re cooking, but boy does it smell delicious. Before you know it they’re transfering everything to plates, and asking you to help bring things over to your neighbours garden.
After everything is transfered over, you all sit down and eat together. Dio and Hermes’ cooking tastes even better than it smells, and you have a lovely time eating and chatting with everyone. Once you are all done eating, Dio and Hermes talk out a plan to restore the garden. It sounds like it won’t take all that much time, but that it’ll take a godly amount of manpower.
