First Impressions and thoughts
I fell for the vibes of this series before I actually enjoyed the story. I think the male lead has such a good character design that I wasn’t worried about being able to enjoy it – even if the story was bad, at least there were nice pictures to look at. Thankfully though, the story was just as good!
While the age gap did throw me off at first, I was quickly able to get over it and found myself really enjoying the story. I liked the interesting relationship that the main couple has – he has a very strange, roundabout way of speaking, and she over-examines literally everything. While this could stress me out, thankfully it was written in a way that I was able to enjoy! All misunderstandings were cleared up before they were able to get to me.
What’s it about?
Ena, trying to make some money during her school vacation, takes up work as a freelance maid. One of her customers, Hisui, is an eccentric manga author. When he stumbles upon her cleaning his house one day, quite literally,

they begin talking. As they get to know each other a little bit better, Hisui confesses that he’s been having some difficulties writing his teenage girl characters.
Ena quickly takes it upon herself to help him out, and vows to teach him about all things youthful.
From here, as part of her job, the two go on various “dates” in order to do research. They go to the beach, take purikura, go to Ena’s school’s festival… All for the sake of research!
But Hisui is very good at his role as a pretend boyfriend on these dates. Once the time is up for Hina’s job, will the two of them stay in contact..?
My Favourites
- Their playful relationship – I really enjoyed watching Ena not realize whether Hisui is actually being serious, or if he’s teasing her.
- The various scenarios – It was fun watching them slowly grow closer and closer with each “date” they went on!
- When Hisui took Ena into his world – Later on in the volume, Hisui takes Ena along to an author event, and it was a very nice change of pace!
My Least-Favourites
- The age gap – While I’m more okay with it now, it’s still worth mentioning.
