Nonki-kun niwa Kanawanai! / のんきくんには敵わない! : Manga Review and Thoughts

Fans of childhood friends to lovers will want to give this one a year! Even though this is a one-shot, it’s filled to the brim with various plot points! So much so that it really doesn’t feel like a one-shot – I felt like I had read a full volume by the time I finished reading.

Information About the Manga

Who wrote Stalker ga Stalker Sareteru Hanashi?

The authors name is Kyono Maco, and you can check out their X here!

How many volumes are out?

This is a one-shot!

First Impressions

While this wasn’t my all-time favourite story, I did enjoy it! I found it because I’m really enjoying one of this author’s stories and wanted to check out their other works.

While I did enjoy the female lead, I really did not like the male lead. I actually felt a little bit bad for her, as I really wanted her to end up with the second lead… He would have treated her so much better…

I think that the ML knowing about the FL’s feelings the whole time could have played out a lot more favourably, however I am glad that it had a happy ending!

My Favourites

  • Happy ending!
  • The introduction of an interesting second lead

My Least-Favourites

  • The male lead wasn’t very likable
  • The female lead’s emotions are played with a bit too much

The Characters

Ichika

  • Has been obviously in love with Nozomi since they were children

Character traits

Ichika is a very kind, easily swayed girl. After being in love with Nozomi since they were children, she has decided to find a new love. She finds it very difficult to even attempt to forget Nozomi though – he is a large part of her personality.

Non-kun (Nozomi)

  • Is (secretly?) in love with Ichika

Character traits

Although he can often be found flirting with various beautiful women, Nozomi has also been in love with Ichika since they were children, though she didn’t know this. He has a very playful personality, often doing his best to leave Ichika flustered.
