Friends to Lovers, Overbearing Boys, and Stolen Marriages – 3 Manga on my Radar

Before I make the plunge and add a new manga to my bookshelf, I like to first download a free sample off of Amazon. Because I’ve been doing this for so long, I have a lot of manga samples downloaded to my kindle.

So, I thought it would be fun to start a new series where I introduce the manga that have caught my eye, and whether reading the samples have convinced me to buy the manga or not!

TL;DR: two strong yesses, one strong no!

Osananajimi kara no Amasugiru Kyuukon ga Tomarimasen

I enjoyed the first chapter of this one so much that it’s probably going to be my next read!

This is a story of childhood friends-to-lovers, with him always being in love with her. After he confesses to her, he lays it on very thick, trying to convince her why it would be a good idea to date him.

While there isn’t anything all that groundbreaking about this story, it has a very good balance of comedy, cuteness, and romance!

Verdict: I would buy the digital!

Aishite ii no wa Ore dake

To put it bluntly, I don’t think i’ll be continuing with this one. I really did not like the male lead in the slightest.

I don’t like his design, I don’t like his pushiness, I just don’t like him. While I do sometimes like the overly-pushy ML trope, this guy just isn’t it for me.

Verdict: I won’t be reading any more of this.

Bitter Marriage

I’m very interested in this series!! It’s about a woman who gets married to a man who was originally engaged to her older sister. While she has been interested in him for quite a while, it’s not recropical.

I love the overall vibes of this manga: it’s a little bit angsty, with a little bit of mystery. I also really like the art!

Verdict: Continue on with the digital for now, potentially get the physical later.
