Why I like this manga

I think this is a really sweet romance manga, and my shelf is really lacking in this type of story!

This is a story of two kind-of loners finding solace in the other, and it’s just a really sweet story. I relate quite a bit to the female lead, in that she tends to find herself listening to music alone in class, rather than talking with her classmates.

I also really like pretend/contract relationship stories hehe

The main characters

There are two main characters to be found:

Shiori

Shiori is a high school student with rather debilitating social anxiety. While she really wants to befriend her classmates, she finds it difficult to find the right timing to join in on conversations.

She usually ends up just listening to music by herself – but that isn’t all that bad! While she is rather lonely, she has this one artist that she really loves, and listening to him makes her feel like she’s not alone.

Utsumi

Utsumi is an amateur musician – and Shiori’s favourite musician. While he doesn’t broadcast his status around school, a true fan can recognize him just by his voice.

He’s a rather aloof boy, who also tends to listen to music by himself, rather than talk with those around him.

While he truly enjoys making music, he finds it incredibly difficult to write lyrics about things he himself has never experienced. So, he asks Shiori to help him experience new things so that he can write even better music.

Is there drama? / trigger warning

This series provides a stress-free reading experience! It is rather slow however, which may bother some people.

Art Sneak Peek

Maddies Ratings

Romance

Rating: 2 out of 5.

While the romance in this manga is far too slow for me, I do understand that a lot of people really enjoy it!

Art

Rating: 3 out of 5.

The art is very ~shoujo~ in that it has a lot of sparkles, and close ups of our main couple. While I think it’s pretty, I also don’t think it’s anything outstanding.

Is it entertaining?

Rating: 2 out of 5.

I am only rating this so low because of how slow it is. I really enjoy the premise, but I just wish the author would speed up the progression a little bit. Hopefully I will grow to enjoy it more as the series goes on.
