My thoughts on this volume (Slight Spoilers!)
I think my favourite volumes of this series are the ones that include Himuro’s little sister, Yukimi. While I do enjoy the various side characters we get to see while Fuyutsuki and Himuro are at work, Yukimi’s quirky personality along with the fact that she’s Himuro’s little sister brings out a different side of them that we don’t usually get to see. Whenever she makes an appearance, I know that there will be at least a bit of relationship progress happening!
I like to recommend this series to those who are looking for a a slow, relaxing comfort read. While this is a light fantasy romance series, we’re five volumes in and there still hasn’t been all that much romance. Instead, every volume we get to watch as Himuro and Fuyutsuki slowly grow closer and closer while still keeping up with their own personal lives. It’s just about as realistic as a light fantasy series can get, in my opinion!
Just because it’s a slow paced series doesn’t mean than nothing ever happens! I just like to warn those who are hoping for a speedy romance to curb their expectations a little. In this volume, there are four little plotlines that play out: Fuyutsuki invites both snowy siblings over to her house without telling the other; there is a sports festival at their workplace; Fuyutsuki and Himuro go on an overnight business trip; and Fuyutsuki goes to karaoke with the siblings.
While I enjoyed the entirety of the volume, my favourite part was watching Fuyutsuki unintentionally trick the snowy siblings when they came to her house. Maybe it’s just because I found all of the misunderstands to be funny, but it was really fun watching Himuro freak out when he realized that this wasn’t a home date! Moreover, it was nice to see him act like a stereotypical brother—he learns here that Yukimi has actually been coming over to Fuyutsuki’s house for a while now, while this is his very first visit and has a slightly adverse reaction.
I’m glad I ended up buying quite a few volumes of this series all at once, as now I don’t have to sit around and wait to continue seeing how their story plays out!
