TL;DR rating

I wasn’t sure how I felt about this series after reading volume one, but this volume gave me a lot of reassurance—this is a fun series!

My thoughts on this volume (spoilers!)

I was a little worried about whether I would continue this series after finishing volume one. While I thought it had a lot of potential, a few things just felt a little flat to me. When I had the opportunity to get volume two I ended up grabbing it, and I’m glad I did! Volume two improved literally everything I disliked about volume one, and made the parts I already enjoyed even more interesting.

My main concern was about the romance—if angels can fall so easily when developing romantic feelings, does that mean romance is going to be avoided? While sweet Misora spent most of volume one avoiding even the thought of romance, volume two had a lingering sense of romance that I quickly grew to love! From one of the student council members recommending she and Agoshi just date already, to a literal kabe-don from Agoshi when alone in the infirmary, I absolutely had my fill!

Romance isn’t the only, or even main focus in this volume. We still follow the members of the student council fight to keep the club open, and we also watch them get ready for an upcoming sports festival. All of these big events are what move the plot along, and the romance takes place in the background. I prefer this kind of pacing, as I don’t want romance to be the one and only thing our characters can think about! It should be like a little treat that they enjoy along the ride.

This volume also introduced a new trope that I typically don’t enjoy: a triangle. I believe this potential second male lead was only introduced to give Agoshi new reasons to be jealous, however I’m actually not complaining! I had already been liking his character before this new development, so I’m happy to have the chance to see more of him. As long as none of the other members of the council try to become romantic interests, I’ll be happy with this.

Check out the series for yourself! (Japanese only)
