TL;DR rating
This volume was pretty okay! I wish it had only focused on Mia, however it was still nice to see Philia happy in her new life.

My thoughts on this volume (Spoilers!)
I was honestly expecting a bit more from this volume. While I wasn’t necessarily disappointed, it didn’t feel like all that much happened.
Mia had already resolved to find out what happened to Philia and take revenge on her part in the last volume, so why does this volume end with Mia doubling down on her decision to come for revenge? She had already decided on revenge one volume ago! I did like seeing her come more into her own person—she’s decided to stop striving to become someone like her sister—but I still was hoping to see more from her here.
We see more of the crown prince’s incompetency, which is making me more excited for the eventual revenge to take place. Him telling Mia to basically “shut up and look pretty” for the majority of their interactions just to later literally push her in front of a monster to save himself was…aggravating. I’m genuinely shocked at the fact that Mia was ever second guessing taking revenge against someone like that—if he doesn’t deserve revenge, who does?
We were shown some of Philia’s life post-barrier in this volume as well, and I feel a little bad saying I didn’t care for her chapter. Perhaps it’s because Mia’s revenge arc is taking so long to start, but I just really didn’t care to learn about the death of the saint she came to replace. I want some action! I want revenge!
I just feel like everything in this series is moving a little too slowly for my liking. It’s clear who Philia’s love interest will be, but absolutely nothing has happened between them yet. It’s also clear that Mia will be getting revenge for her sister, but it hasn’t even left the thinking stage yet. I just want something to happen…
