So, both Hades and Colette have come to realize their feelings for each other… But still, neither confesses!

My thoughts on this volume
This volume starting with Colette dreaming about what would have happened if she and Hades weren’t interrupted by the other gods at the end of the previous volume..! Honestly, I’ve never felt so connected to a character in this moment. While Colette tends to be a relatable, but admirable character, she’s never been so relatable to me than in this scene.
While this series is very much a slow burn, I would say that it’s in this volume that we see the most yearning—from both Colette and Hades. There is rather good distribution of page time between the two of them, as we get to see both slowly come to really accept their feelings for the other. We also get to see a little bit of reflection from Hades in this volume, with him wondering exactly what has changed in him in the time that’s passed since he first met Colette.
While of course Hades and Colette are the star couple of this series, it doesn’t mean they’re the only couple we get to see. One half of the background couples makes an appearance in this volume, through Mari. It’s through subtly confiding in Mari that Colette is really able to understand her feelings for Hades. It seems like Mari’s character is really growing on me, as I now see her as an almost perfect older sister.
I’m going to talk about one of my favourite scenes that happens in this volume, because it’s one of my favourites in the entire series from here!
After receiving the letter from Kotsume, Colette is both happy to receive something from Hades, and a little sad that she hasn’t been able to sleep. She then goes to sleep… and wakes up in the middle of the night. Hades came up to the human world, and she could literally feel his presence in her sleep! Oh my god, it’s such a well-written, romantic scene.
Hades then delivers the second half of his letter to her, and while she’s still a little bit frazzled by him, she’s fully accepted her feelings for him at this point (though she hasn’t outwardly verbalized anything)
Another one of my favourite scenes takes place in the winter cave, with the preserved flower… But I can’t spoil everything in this post!
Things I particularly enjoyed (Spoilers!!)
❤️ Colette confiding her feelings for Hades to Dio! I’m really growing to love their friendship, Dio is so supportive!
🧡 Colette picking up the black cat that resembles Hades at the market! He’s literally never not on her mind she’s so cute.
💛 Slowly learning more about Mari and Itan’s marriage.
💚 Colette feeling too shy to see Hades… So she instead sends him a letter attached with the cat she picked up. Though I do think she should have kept the cat for herself…
💛 Kotsume going to meet Colette in the human world to deliver the letter!! It was so unexpected, as Hades clearly wanted to deliver it himself, but he probably didn’t want to make Colette feel awkward.
🧡 Colette in her Winter gear!! As a Canadian, I’m very weak to cute Winter fashion.
❤️ Hades taking Colette to see the one and only flower in all of the underworld.
