Are you looking forward to all of the new series coming out next year? I know I am!
When I was going through all of the upcoming releases, I happened upon quite a few series that I’ve already read (as I read ahead in Japanese). So, in this post I’m going to share the 7 series that I think are absolutely worth checking out. As a little bonus, I’ll also share the 2 completely new to me series that I may end up blind buying.
Coming out January 6th
Choking on Love, Volume Four

Here’s a little synopsys of this volume:
Summer break has come to an end, and the university art festival is just around the corner. While Hibari has always wanted to participate, her lack of confidence has been holding her back. Lucky for her, her new free-spirited boyfriend Gaku has confidence to spare! He encourages her to take the plunge and sign up. Meanwhile, Hibari’s best friend Airi has decided to finally confess her feelings to Gaku’s bandmate, Takeru!
Otaku Vampire’s Love Bite, Volume Six

Here’s a little synopsys of this volume:
Hina Alucard is a modern vampire who drinks blood from bags instead of from humans. But she’s also a complete shut-in who hasn’t left the house in 30 years. In an effort to reach her, Hina’s dad does something that changes her life—he gives her a DVD of the Vampire Cross anime! Hina is instantly obsessed, especially with the character Mao. But it’s difficult to fangirl as hard as she wants from her bedroom in Romania, so now Hina is out of the house and off to Japan to live her otaku dream!
After a newbie vampire influencer’s vlog goes viral, foreign vampires are flocking to Japan and stirring up all kinds of problems. Rinya thinks Hina might have something to do with the influx of trouble, but she’s too concerned about Kyuta to worry about vampire politics. She’d better get worried, though, because it turns out the uninvited visitors aren’t just there to see the sights—they’re blood tourists, and Kyuta is at the top of their must-taste list!
Coming out January 13th

The more time the two of them spend alone together, the more deeply Satoko comes to understand Shinpei, and her feelings for him blossom. Meanwhile, fueled by jealousy and his duty as an attendant, Kotaro makes his move and tries to pull Satoko away from the assassin by force.
And now, I’m going to introduce the two series that I’m hoping to get into this January. I know absolutely nothing about them, and am hoping to be able to go into them completely blind.
