Job hunting isn’t exactly easy, but having a handsome man who works at a cafe rooting for you can make things a bit more tolerable.

What happens in chapter one?
Yotsuba is having a rather difficult time in her job search. While she knows the type of job that she wants to do, the process of going through an interview is all too nerve-wracking for her. When she’s asked a question she can’t answer right away, she freezes up; when she can tell that the interviewers are bored with her answers, she freezes up. Because of this, it’s been rejection after rejection.
One day, on her way home from one such job interview, she bumps into the handsome Kakeru in front of a café. He helps her set up a game plan for her next interview after lending an ear to her woes. His advice eventually helps Yotsuba pass her interview, and she visits him to celebrate. Just as things were about to get a little romantic between the two of them, a mysterious girl comes in looking for Kakeru, seeming a little bit too friendly to be just his friend.
Could this be yet another failure in Yotsuba’s life!?
My thoughts about this volume
I enjoyed this introduction to the series! I like the art and character designs, and I always love a male lead barista. I’m not sure why, but it always makes them just a little bit more charming in my eyes.
This volume had just the right amount of setup for us to understand Yotsuba, and juuust the right amount of build-up between her and Kakeru. The ending had me wanting to follow up right away, which I will be doing!
As this was only 30 pages, I don’t have all that much to say about it just yet. I am looking forward to seeing where the story goes.
What I liked most about this volume
❤️ Yotsuba doing her best to find a job! Even though she claims it was through Kakeru’s advice that she was finally able to pass, really it was from her own effort.
🧡 Kakeru clearly liking Yotsuba from the start – as it should be. “He falls first” is the only way to go.
💛 All of the kira-kira sparkles – in case you forgot, this is a shoujo romance! There can never be too many sparkles.
