What happens in the introduction?
17 year old Yori finds herself moving in with her new stepbrother after her mother gets married and all but flees the country. While she’s a rather self-sufficient person, she should be able to live fine without her mother but, moving in with a stepbrother that she’s never met is certainly a bit daunting.
Upon arriving at his apartment, she quickly learns that her new step-brother is a rather strange person. He’s beyond thrilled at the fact that he’s obtained such a cute younger sister and quickly asks that she begin referring to him as “older brother”.
Very much put off by his excitement, Yori quickly decides that she should probably try reaching out to some friends to find a new place to live. As she’s about to get up to leave, her new step-brother reminds her that she really doesn’t have any other good options, and she’s already here, so she may as well stay.
What I liked most about this volume
❤️ The art – I read this author’s previous work ” Sagesumu Shisen ga Saikou Desu “, and quickly fell in love with their art style. This time around is beautiful as well!
🧡 Often times shoujo manga just mysteriously has parents not exist in stories, and we’re left wondering what happened to them. I like that we’re at least given the reasoning behind the mom’s absence. Also, I’m glad that she wasn’t exactly abandoned! She was still left with someone the mom seems to have deemed trustworthy.
💛 The ML is clearly going to be the obsessive type, and I’m here for it.
💚 The intro to this sort of gave me Tokoton Kuzu vibes! Maybe because of the shirtless man opening the door?
