Chisaki and Reo are the be-all end-all cute couple. Up until now this series has showered us in their cuteness,,, but volume 3 comes with a change of pace! We are introduced to a new potential love interest, who all but confesses to Chisaki right away.

What happens in Volume Three?
We start off this volume with Chisaki and Reo agreeing that they want to go to the beach together, but are quickly interrupted by Reo’s friends inviting themselves along on their date. They spend a little while hanging out as a big group, but it’s not long when Reo decides that he wants some alone time with Chisaki, and they break away. They spend quite a while playing in the water, just the two of them, until Reo’s friends reach out to let them know that they need to return as they want to do fireworks.
We then cut back to school, where Chisaki takes it upon herself to take care of a sick Anjou. In case you forgot, Anjou is the upperclassman partially in charge of a fashion show that will be soon happening at their school. She takes such good care of him, that he tells her he understands exactly why Reo likes her so much — implying that he also likes her. This is overheard by Reo, and he kindly confronts Anjou when Chisaki walks away, telling him to try his best to win Chisaki over, because Reo himself is also going to be coming onto her stronger.
At the fashion show, we see Reo modeling a princely look, partnered with a princess. As he’s modeling, he’s scanning the crowd, clearly looking for someone. When he spots Chisaki, he picks up her, brings her on stage, and gives her a kiss.
This came at a very good time, as when Chisaki was watching him up on stage, she was beginning to worry that he is much out of her league. She was telling herself that he’s clearly a prince, and that the princess he was partnered with looks better with him than she ever could… and he stops that line of thinking right in the middle when he swoops in.
After the show, Chisaki runs into Anjou on her way to class. He asks if he can confide in her in regards to his love life, and she of course agrees. He tells her that he has someone he’s interested in, but that she has a boyfriend. What should he do? She tells him that she thinks it’s important for him to put his own feelings first, and that he should do his best to convey his feelings. She tells him that she’s rooting for him, and that she hopes his love can come to fruition. Not realizing that he was talking about her… He then invites her (and Reo) to the zoo as a thanks for participating in the fashion show.
At the zoo, Reo and Anjou are clearly in rival mode right from the start. There seems to be no big animosity, rather they’re both just trying their best to get closer to Chisaki. When alone, Anjou tells Reo that he asked Chisaki for advice about his love life, and he told him what she replied. Upon Chisaki’s return Reo asks her exactly how Anjou phrased his question to her, and Chisaki cuts in with praises about Reo. She begins talking about how Reo taught her the importance of expressing your feelings for the person you like, and that she hopes Anjou can one day find someone who he can express his own feelings to.
Clearly there’s no room in Chisaki’s heart for anyone besides Reo, and I hope it stays like this~.
What I like about this volume
❤️ The art! I find the artstyle to be so unique, and just perfect for the story. The characters little chibi face designs are especially cute.
🧡 The fluff – while this story does have a plotline it follows, it’s strongest point is the fluff. The romance is very sweet, and incredibly well-written.
💛 Chisaki and Reo’s relationship – I love just how strong their relationship is. The two of them clearly think highly of the other, and we don’t see any cracks forming whatsoever.
💚 Even when there’s conflict, there’s no conflict. With Anjou being introduced as a rival I was a little bit worried that the tone of the series would shift, but it didn’t!
💙 No jealousy between Chisaki and Reo – While we see Reo almost begin getting worried about Chisaki, she begins gushing about how much she likes him before he can even start actually worrying. And likewise with Chisaki when she sees Reo on stage at the fashion show.
