One of my favourite manga magazines is Dessert! Just like the name suggests, all of the manga featured in this magazine have delicious romances. If you like one manga featured in this magazine, chances are you’ll like a good majority of them. So, in this blog post, I wanted to share all of the current Dessert manga, and whether or not I have any opinions about them!

Amelia no Koukiteki Romance / アメーリアの好奇的ロマンス

Have I read this series yet?: I’ve read the first chapter, and loved it! Volume 1 is currently in my shopping cart.

This series follows two high school students: a girl who is secretly a web-novel author, and a boy who teachers her about romance to help her write better scenarios.

Isso Anata ga Todome wo Sashite / いっそあなたがトドメを刺して

Have I read this series yet?: As of right now, I’ve read the first two volumes! This is a rather dramatic series, so I’m reading it slowly.

This series is about two university students: a girl who is trying to find a serious relationship in a sea of boys who just want to hook up, and the boy she’s set her sights on who just wants to sleep around with girls casually.

Utsumi-kun no Koi no Uta / 内海くんの恋のうた

Have I read this series yet?: I’ve read the first volume, however it was a little bit slow for my taste.

What’s it about?: This series follows two high school students: a girl who is a bit of a loner, but finds solace in listening to her favourite underground artist, and her classmate who is secretly said favourite underground artist. The two begin a pretend relationship so that he can learn what it’s like to be in love, all for the sake of writing a song.

In the Clear Moonlight Dusk / うるわしの宵の月

Have I read this series yet?: I’ve read the first few volumes, and ultimately dropped the series.

What’s it about?: This series follows two high school students: she is very handsome, and is known by her female and male classmates as “the prince”. Because of her looks, she’s never really been treated as a girl. He is known as a prince as well, and takes a quick interest in her for her beauty.

How I Met My Soulmate / 運命の人に出会う話

** While this is currently a Dessert series, it’s moving over to Palcy soon

Have I read this series yet?: I’ve read the first two volumes so far! There’s a lot of miscommunication, so I’m reading it slowly.

This series follows two university students: she desperately wants to find her soulmate, and runs into him while out at a nightclub. He agrees to help her find her soulmate, but the two slowly grow closer and closer.

Okuremashite Seishun / おくれまして青春

This series follows the romance between two university students who are trying to relive their high school days.

Oshiete Shitsuji-kun / おしえて執事くん

This series follows a spoiled rich only daughter, and the butler that she’s been in love with since she was a child.

Kimi wa Boku no Risou no Kareshi / 君は僕の理想の彼氏

Have I read this series yet?: I have not!

What’s it about?: This is one of Desserts newest BL series! I haven’t read it yet.

Fall in Love you False Angels / 恋せよまやかし天使ども

Have I read this series yet?: I have read the first 5 volumes, and loved them all!

This series follows two high school students who share a big secret: they both have particular personalities that they hide from the majority of the world. One day, they accidentally reveal their true faces to each other.

Koi wo Suru nara Kyoushitsu de / 恋をするなら教室で

Have I read this series yet?: I have not! This is a very new series.

What’s it about?: From Kodansha’s website, it looks like this is an anthology series that follows several relationships over the course of one year in a classroom. It looks like this will be released in one omnibus form.

Gokigenyō, Koharu-san / ごきげんよう、小春さん

Have I read this series yet?: I hadn’t even heard of this series before! Dessert hasn’t been posting about it at all…

What’s it about?: From what I can see, this series follows a girl who works both as a maid at a maid cafe, and as a streamer. One day, a group of men who don’t seem interested in maids enters the maid cafe, and her life is changed…

And Yet, You Are So Sweet / なのに、千輝くんが甘すぎる。

Have I read this series yet?: I am currently reading, and loving this series! I haven’t read it in a little while, so I’m a bit fuzzy on which volume I left off at.

This series follows the pretend relationship between a girl who’s trying to get over her unrequited crush, and a boy who doesn’t really know what it’s like to be in love.

Numasugite Mohaya Koi / 沼すぎてもはや恋

Have I read this series yet?: I read the first chapter, and wasn’t a fan.

What’s it about?: This series follows a girl who develops a crush on a boy because he looks like her favourite idol. But… This boy has a big secret…

A Condition Called Love / 花野井くんと恋の病

Have I read this series yet?: I was reading this one on my kindle a few years ago, and stopped for some reason… I really enjoyed it though, so I’m planning on picking it back up!

What’s it about?: This is a very sweet series that follows the romance of two high school students. He really really really likes her. To the point I thought this was going to be a horror series at first (he gives off stalker vibes at first, but he grew on me fast).

Love, That’s an Understatement / ひかえめに言っても、これは愛

This series follows the romance of two high school students: she is an honours student who is prepared to do everything on her own, and he is a delinquent who is determined to not let her be all alone.

Higashi Sengoku-san no Makeup Doll / 東千石さんのメイクアップドール

Have I read this series yet?: I have read the first volume, and really enjoyed it!

What’s it about?: This series follows two university students: she is tired of always being seen as the mom friend, and wants a change but doesn’t really know how to go about it. He is a beauty student, and sees a blank canvas in her.

Love, Out On A Limb / 僕らの好きはわりきれない

Have I read this series yet?: I have read the first volume, and really enjoyed it!

This is a series that follows a very complicated trio: a pair of siblings reunite for the first time in many years, and their friend who seems to have had some secret feelings for the sister since before she first moved away.

Choking on Love / むせるくらいの愛をあげる

This series follows the romance of two art university students: he is the lead singer of a band, and is very rash; she is learning graphic design, and is learning out to break out of her shell.

My Boyfriend in Orange / モエカレはオレンジ色

Have I read this series yet?: I have not!

What’s it about?: I am purely going off of Kodansha’s description. It looks like this is a series that follows the romance of a high school student who has fire-related trauma, and a fireman who saves her during a school drill.

A Sign of Affection / ゆびさきと恋々

This is a very sweet series that follows the romance between two university students: she is deaf and rather childlike, and he is interested in learning about new languages and cultures.

Yori-kun to Yori wo Modosu wake ni wa! / 頼くんとヨリを戻すわけには！
