While there are so many fantastic older shoujo series that I love, I always enjoy looking at through the new releases! There’s just something so exciting about discovering a manga before it’s even had its first volume published..!
So, on that note, I want to introduce three new manga that I absolutely recommend to everyone! While one has already had a volume published within the past few weeks, the other two are still only 4~5 chapters in.

A quick recap
The life of the only daughter of a financial conglomerate is a rather lonely one. Or at least, it is for our main character Kikyou. After her mother died, both her father and grandfather began to dote on her heavily, and none of the house servants would dare tell her no.
That is, until Hanayagi was brought in. At the young age of 12, he was probably the youngest butler-in-training that Kikyou had ever met. When she gave him attitude for being so young, he threw it right back at her, telling her she’s also a child (she was 8 at the time).
While Kikyou did try and fire him right away, Hanayagi defended his words, claiming to see Kikyou as a human like anyone else. “If you don’t have anyone around that will speak to you normally, wouldn’t you get lonely?” he asks the room. This struck Kikyou, as she was incredibly lonely, and she was smitten with him from there.
6 years later, Hanayagi is really all Kikyou thinks about. At school she talks to her friends about him, and at home she has him hang out with her. While they’re not dating, and Hanayagi swiftly avoids all of Kikyou’s advances, Kikyou keeps on making her feelings towards him clear.

A quick recap
After having an unsuccessful love life in high school, Hatsuha is determined to find a boyfriend now that she’s moved on to university. She’s moved out of her hometown all the way to Tokyo, and she’s set herself up to have new experiences.
When she leaves for university one morning, she unexpectedly runs into her new neighbour: her ex-boyfriend from middle school, Yori. It turns out that both of them were shown their apartment complex by the same acquaintance – everyone knows each other in small towns, after all.
The two haven’t been in contact since breaking up in middle school, and it seems like they didn’t have the cleanest break-up. We learn this through Yori’s slightly aggressive demanding of Hatsuha to unblock him on social media. Yori says no and runs away but, they both go to the same school… and they live right beside each other… It’s not like they’ll never run into each other again..
