A Quick Recap

Nagomi has always been a bit different from the other girls, even as a young child. She grew to be tall rather early in her life, has naturally wavy hair, and has a rather big chest.

Because of her developing early, she has had to deal with countless things she has had no control over. Her smaller classmates found her scary, her teachers accused her of dressing promiscuously, and her male classmates would openly discuss her body for all to hear.

During her time in high school, the one presence that actually seemed to see her as the studious girl that she was, was her teacher, Mr. Ichihara. Due to his kind, observant nature, she quickly developed feelings for him.

A few years later, Nagomi is still having boy troubles. She chooses to date boys who look like they want a serious relationship, but is crushed when she finds out they have ulterior intentions.

When she was drinking her sorrows away in a bar one day, she is reunited with her old high school teacher, Mr. Ichihara. He gives her some sound advice: while it’s only natural to be upset that boys were judging her purely on her appearance, she was also choosing to date boys that she assumed to be serious based on their appearances.

With this, their relationship is somewhat up in the air, as it’s unclear what kind of feelings Mr. Ichihara has for Nagomi.

Art Glance

My Thoughts on the Manga

I’m really not a fan of 99% of teacher x student romance stories, and unfortunately this was not the 1%. I am happy that absolutely nothing happened while she was underage, however I still am not a fan of the relationship dynamic.

I do think that this series has the potential to go in a great direction, with the teacher helping Nagomi heal her past wounds… but I think it would only work for me if that healing also involved introducing her to someone more appropriate for her.

For Nagomi herself, I neither liked nor disliked her. While I felt bad for her, I really didn’t learn anything about her character in the first chapter besides that her life has been pretty sad so far.
