A Quick Recap

When meeting with her boyfriend on her birthday, what should have been a fun night turned into one of depression drinking for our protagonist Asami. He sprung the notion of wanting to break up with her rather suddenly, citing her not sharing her thoughts and feelings with him properly as his main reason. “You don’t really care that you’re dating me right? You’d be fine dating anyone, right?” he tells her, and they break up.

He leaves the restaurant, but Asami decides to stay back, and drinks until she all but passes out. The waiter taking care of her, Aoki, eventually gets her out of the store… but Asami being as drunk as she is, he worries whether she’ll actually make it home. So, he ends up helping her return home, where he ends up spending the night.

Embarrassed, Asami returns to his restaurant to make an apology, and to also boldly ask for his contact information. This is where we also learn that Aoki is only in high school..!

My Thoughts on the Manga

I enjoyed this introductory chapter! While it wasn’t anything all that groundbreaking, I liked both Aoki and Asami. I am hoping that Asami will be a little bit more fleshed out over the coming chapters… And I also really hope that Aoki is revealed to be in his final year of high school.

While I don’t typically love stories with a big age gap, I don’t mind small ones at all! My being able to enjoy the story will likely partially depend on the ages of both characters.
