First Impressions
The more I read this story, the more I enjoy it! Both characters clearly have their own flaws, and it helps them to feel real. The idea of both of them moving from their small town to Tokyo, only to end up next door neighbours is a little bit far fetched, however this is really the only unbelievable thing in this story!
I really enjoyed learning more about Yori, and I found him to be such an interesting character. After reading just chapter one, if I were Katsuho, I certainly wouldn’t take him back.
I am really enjoying the university setting, as we get to see Katsuho really become independent for the first time. I’m really enjoying her as the female lead so far! While she is clearly a strong character, she is rather swayed by Yori’s kindness, which makes absolute sense – he was her first boyfriend after all! Feelings are going to linger.
My Favourites
- Very interesting former? male lead
- Realistic human emotions
- Pretty art
My Least-Favourites
- The chapter felt a little short
The Characters
Katsuho

- The cutest
Character traits
Katsuho is a very kind, forgiving girl. Up until a certain degree. She and Yori used to date when they were in middle school, and she thought that he was the absolute coolest. So, when he ghosted her after she got into his dream high school, she held out hope that he would come around eventually… but she ended up blocking him for her own peace of mind.
Now that she’s moved to Tokyo for university, she’s determined to have a fresh start. With fresh friends, a fresh job, and potentially a fresh boyfriend.
Yori

- Passionate but a little crazy (light)
Character traits
Yori is a boy who can’t help but want to help everyone around him. While this can be seen as an admirable trait, he quite literally cannot help but to be on a constant lookout for those in trouble. This can be a little bit frustrating if you’re trying to keep his attention. He’s a very studious person, and took his inability to enter his dream high school as a big shock.
Due to his good looks and kindness, he attracts the attention of people no matter where he goes. He’s especially popular with women, but he’s only interested in Katsuho.
Quick Story Checks!
Are there any trigger warnings?
None that I can think of!
