High School Romance x 3 – 3 Manga on my Radar

Before I make the plunge and add a new manga to my bookshelf, I like to first download a free sample off of Amazon. Because I’ve been doing this for so long, I have a lot of manga samples downloaded to my kindle.

So, I thought it would be fun to start a new series where I introduce the manga that have caught my eye, and whether reading the samples have convinced me to buy the manga or not!

TL;DR even though I’m trying to stay away from high school romances, 2 still pulled me in!

Zannen’na koi no shujinkoutachi

While I am trying to stay away from high school romances, I am still open to reading the ones that really draw me in! This, thankfully, drew me in very strongly.

It’s about two incredibly awkward people who have a crush on the other. While the sample I read was rather short, I found the art to be beautiful, and both characters to be awkwardly charming.

Verdict: I would buy the digital, or the physical if I can find it!

Oshi ga Tonari de Netemashite

This is another high school manga that drew me in! I’m not as excited for it as the above one, however I would still like to read this!

It’s a story about two high school students who are forced to share living arrangements, and one just so happens to have been obsessed with the other for quite some time now. It’s a rather ~out there~ story, and I found the premise to be rather entertaining.

This is one of those stories that you have to suspend your disbelief a little bit to be able to enjoy.

Verdict: I would continue reading this digitally.

Kyou, Kimi no Kororo o Ubau kara

This one unfortunately didn’t quite draw me in like the above two. While the art is indeed gorgeous, I found the story itself to be a little bit to typical / stale for me to be able to really get into.

I may give it another shot at a later date, but as of right now the first chapter was unable to draw me in.

Verdict: Try again later.
