A Quick Recap
Saki has always been a rather clumsy girl. We’re shown this almost instantly, as she accidently cuts off too much of her bangs during a self-trim. At school, she prays that her crush doesn’t notice her, and he doesn’t! But that’s only because her crushes friend has also trimmed his hair too short, and caught his attention.
Saki, seeking a kindred spirit, tells the friend, Sano, that she thinks his haircut suits him. She notes that this is her first time speaking to him as she gives him the compliment. While he doesn’t give her a reply, he does blush a little at her comment.
From this interaction, Saki’s impression of this boy has changed, and she tries to talk to him a little bit more during class. He doesn’t entertain her all that long though – accusing her of only trying to use him to get to her crush, his friend.

My Thoughts on the Manga
I really enjoyed this introduction! I found both characters to be very interesting, and I can’t wait to read on!
I loved the parallel of their too-short haircuts, and also loved how it became the instigator behind their first interaction. It feels different from a typical high school shoujo manga, and I am very hopeful that Saki will be a main character who can stand up for herself.
I also enjoyed Sano’s personality – I smell an interesting backstory that will later be explained.
