Amelia no Koukiteki Romance / アメーリアの好奇的ロマンス (2) – Mini Manga Review

This is a mini review for episode one, part two. Haven’t read part one yet? Check out my review here!

A quick recap

After unintentionally watching her mysterious classmate make-out with an unknown girl, Amelia finds herself alone in the infirmary with him.

He doesn’t seem even the slightest bit perturbed in being caught by Amelia, rather, he soon after offers to “show her the thrills that can be found in romance novels”. While he certainly seems to live up to his playboy reputation, it’s clear that there’s more to him than just that.

He picks up the phone that Amelia dropped in surprise when she caught him, and from her phone he discovers her secret: she’s a romance novelist. He criticises her writing right in front of her, telling her it’s similar to what a child who doesn’t understand romance would write. When Amelia snaps back that he shouldn’t criticise something he hasn’t even fully read, he agrees, and gets comfortable to read her novel.

My Thoughts on the Manga

I’m still really enjoying this series! I think that this volume was a very good introduction to the mysterious male lead. We got to see how the dynamic between the two leads may look, and I loved it! They have very differing personalities, and I’m excited to see the ways they may clash.

I found the male lead to be pretty funny, though he’s a little bit difficult to read. I actually like that in a lead though, as I find anything else a bit too predictable.
