A quick recap

Yuki is a member of a very famous YouTube dance group. He’s also the visual of the group so his popularity is sky-high. While one may think of this as being a good thing, to Yuki it’s anything but. This popularity has caused him from being able to have a serious relationship.

While he has never cheated on anyone, most of the girls he dates, all of whom he actually genuinely likes, accuse him of just playing around with them. He’s a little bit depressed, as though he’s never done any wrong, he’s never been able to hold a relationship for longer than two months.

One chance night at a party, Yuki spots a beautiful woman leaving. As they made eye contact when she passed him, Yuki takes this is an invitation to follow her out, and attempts to chase her down.

While Yuki is trying to show this girl how cool he is, she somehow keeps managing to get him incredibly flustered. Literally, every single time Yuki tries to show off, she somehow is able to come out on top.

It turns out that this mysterious girl is actually a big fan of Yuki, and was getting him flustered on purpose. She knows exactly how to push his buttons, but is also incredibly considerate of him. It looks like everything she was doing, she did to draw him in so that he would invite her on a date – and it works.

My Thoughts on the Manga

I loved this chapter, and found it to be such an entertaining way to start the series. I think the fact that our female lead, despite looking like a quiet, shy woman, is actually the one who calls the shots in the relationship is so much fun. I love their dynamic so much, and it was really entertaining to watch her put Yuki in his place whenever he began to act out.

I think Yuki’s character is also very interesting, as he feels very fleshed out right from the very beginning. I feel for him when he’s crying about being broken up with for no good reason, but also judge him when he’s trying to be “manly” in all the wrong ways. All in all, he feels very real. I find this realness to be difficult to find in a lot of romance manga, so I was very happy to see it!
