What’s it about?

This manga shows the romance between a woman who is struggling with her finances while working at a cram school, and her manager. While the manager seems like the perfect man, loved by both workers and clients alike, it turns out this is just a front! As when he learns how the female lead almost got fooled into working as a hostess in a shady club, he couldn’t help but let his mask down due to frustration.

Don’t know what “josei” means? Check out my explanation post here!

In volume 2, our male lead invites the female lead to be his own personal secretary. As she is in desperate need of extra cash, she doesn’t really have a choice but to accept. While they already had a good relationship as boss/worker, now that they’re working together even more closely, we get to see quite a few cute moments between them!

We learn that he really doesn’t let his polite “mask” down for anyone besides our FL. While he seems to always be incredibly cheerful, and easygoing around the office, in reality he’s incredibly overworked and sleep deprived.

All in all, volume 2 did a very good job of further progressing their relationship! I think the pacing is incredibly realistic, and both characters really do feel like real people.

My thoughts!

the story

While I do think volume 2 is better than volume 1, I still don’t see myself seeking out a physical if one were to come out. I am interested in seeing how their relationship grows though, as I do enjoy them together!

the art

The art is pretty standard – not my favourite, but it’s not bad by any means.

is it fun?

I am enjoying the story so far! The FL is still naive in this volume (it did annoy me the tiniest bit), but I do like that the ML calls her out on it every time. Like girl…understand when people are making fun of you to your face…
