What’s it about?

This manga shows the romance between a woman who is struggling with her finances while working at a cram school, and her manager. While the manager seems like the perfect man, loved by both workers and clients alike, it turns out this is just a front! As when he learns how the female lead almost got fooled into working as a hostess in a shady club, he couldn’t help but let his mask down due to frustration.

While the premise of the story is rather simple, I do think that chapter 1 does a very good job at introducing the two main characters! We learn quite a bit about both of their personalities: our male lead acts friendly, but is rather dry and curt. While our female lead is way too naive to be able to really properly go out into the world.

While the company she is working for has a strict “no side hustles” rule, after lending a friend the last of her money, she finds herself needing to break the rules. When walking down the street, a man approaches her offering her a job: all she has to do is put on a nice dress, some makeup, drink some wine, and listen to some clients stories. Just do that, and she could make $3,000 just in one night!

She thinks that there’s absolutely nothing fishy about this, and when the man tells her that he’ll be fired if she doesn’t go with him… she willingly starts to go with him. It’s only thanks to the male lead coming to her rescue that she was able to get out of the situation.

When they get back to the office, our female lead breaks down the situation to her boss, and begs him to let her find a side job. He says no, and instead offers her a big stack of cash. She claims that she would prefer to earn money through her own hard work though, and turns him down. She even thinks to herself that he’s scary now that he’s not all smiles (like girl, he just saved you from being sold… Of course he’s not happy).

My thoughts!

the story

I think the story is rather basic,,, but fun! It’s definitely something that I would read on my Kindle, but I can’t see myself getting the physical.

the art

The art is pretty standard – not my favourite, but it’s not bad by any means.

is it fun?

I’m enjoying the story so far, but I really do hope that the female lead stops being so naive soon…
