**This is an 18+ BL manga**
The author, and their other manga
- This story was written by Billy Balibally!
While this author does have a number of other series, I would say that Fangs is their most notable manga. You can see their full list of manga here!
How many volumes? Is there an English Release?
- There are currently 3 volumes published for English readers to enjoy! You can check out volume 1 through Tokyopop’s website here!
Why I like this manga
I really do enjoy the dark vibes that vampire media tends to bring, and Fangs does a really good job of adding a bit of lightheartedness to that darkness.
The two main characters have really good banter, and I was really able to enjoy their relationship from the second that they were introduced.
I also appreciated the storytelling – as readers, while we weren’t exactly thrown into the middle of things without an explanation, we also weren’t handheld throughout everything. The important details were explained, and we were trusted to pick up the rest from there.
The main characters
There are two main characters to be found:
En
En is a fresh face in the world of vampires, making him an easy target to everyone. Being the only survivor of a vampire attack, he is especially weary of all of the new vampires around him.
He doesn’t let this break his spirit though, as he brings a fresh light into the lives of all the new vampires he meets.
Ichii
Ichii is a cheeky old man trapped in a young man’s body, and is my favourite character in this series. As his job has him taking care of a number of vampires, he takes up putting the new vampire, En, at his house.
He has a mysterious dark past, which may be why he does his best to take care of those around him now. He can be rather introspective at times, leaving En all the more curious about him.
Maddies Ratings
Romance
I was actually surprised by how much I enjoyed the romance in this manga. En and Ichii’s relationship felt really real – how they interact with each other, their banter, Ichii knowing when to comfort En…
Art
I think the art is beautiful! It does a good job of matching the tone of the story.
Is it entertaining?
This story has just enough mystery and suspense to keep you wanting to read on!!
