Why I like this manga
What first drew me to this manga was the unique artstyle! I think it perfectly matches the mood of the story, and it just brings something a little extra to enjoy! I really like how Maze draws her characters facial expressions, and there’s quite a few panels where there’s a lot of meaning conveyed without any dialog.
Another thing I really love is the way relationships are portrayed. While it is our FL’s first relationship, it’s not our ML’s first, and the awkwardness that comes with that is explored rather tactfully.
To start, there’s no awkwardness around the “getting to know you” stage, or any real chasing to be done, the plot of this manga revolves around what happens after they start dating, not before. This allowed me to quickly grow rather attached to them as a couple!
The main characters in Mairimashita Senpai
There are two main characters to be found:
Serina

Serina is a high school student, who finds herself quickly falling for her upperclassmen. She’s a kind, friendly girl, who is always surrounded by her friends.
She’s brave enough to confess her feelings, and to go out and take risks. She doesn’t let failure or setbacks deter her, and she’s an ever-positive protagonist!
As she doesn’t have any experience with relationships she gets flustered often, but that just makes her new relationship all the more exciting.
Mizukawa

Mizukawa is one year older than Serina, and is a rather calm and collected when compared to Serina. While he does have more experience in dating, he is still rather awkward with Serina, and is very cautious in trying to be a good boyfriend to her.
Like Serina, Mizukawa is generally surrounded by his friends, and is well liked by those around him. As he works hard at both school and his part time job he tends to be exhausted a lot of the time, but he doesn’t let that stop him from seeing Serina.
While he does come off a little bit cold and aloof at the beginning, I personally think he is just a little bit awkward and realistic when it comes to love.
Is there drama? (we’re generally not a fan of drama)
While there is a little bit of drama here and there, it’s the kind of drama normally found in high school relationships. I believe this is really needed in the story, as it really grounds it and adds a bit of realness to it. There isn’t so much drama that it’s stressful to read – its 90% fluff and romance.

Romance
Honestly this is probably one of the manga with the most realistic depictions of romance that i’ve read so far. It’s so well done, and I found myself constantly rooting for Serina and Mizukawa.
Character development
There isn’t allll that much character development done, but we do get to see their relationship grow and evolve quite a bit throughout the series!
Is it entertaining?
I absolutely loved this series! There is a really good mix of fluff, romance, and plot.
