As I tend to read quite a lot of shoujo manga, I feel like i’ve developed quite a few favourite characters. From protagonists to antagonists, I feel like it’s not all that difficult to find a character you really resonate with! In this post, I’d like to introduce you to a few of my favourite male love interests that appear in the manga that I’m currently reading~
Love that’s an understatement
Hikaeme ni itte mo, kore wa ai
Zen has everything that I look for in a LI : he’s a yankee, dark hair, obsessed with the FL, and he has a good personality! My love for him as a character is the exact reason I fell in love with this series as a whole so quickly
Choking on love
Museru kurai no ai wo ageru
My love for Gaku is a little bit different from my love for Zen. If I were to also be a fictional character in a manga, I could genuinely see myself dating a character like Zen! The same cannot be said for Gaku. I get so jealous, that I know I wouldn’t be able to see someone as famous and canonically good-looking as Gaku is, but I really really love him as a boyfriend for Hibari.
Hana ni kamiguse
Yuki is one of those characters that for some reason has a lot of appeal, but again, if I met him in real life I don’t really know what I would do. He has memory loss, and is an incredible bodyguard, so he’s just absolutely shrouded in mystery. In a manga character, this gives me a lot of intrigue, but only so long as it stays fiction. Were I in a similar position as the FL of this manga, I too would want a boyfriend like Yuki! But alas, I am not.
Fundari, Kettari, Aishitari
Stomp, Kick, Love
Akira is my #1 favourite when it comes to toxic ML’s. Again, in real life, I know he would bring me nothing but stress. Howeverrrr, it’s just so much fun to watch him banter with Kaho in the manga! He’s a very complex character, and just being given a little bit of information about him leaves you wanting more.
Assassin x Cinderella
Omi is one of my favourites purely because of how obsessed with Neneko he is. I’m a sucker for ML’s that are competent/cold/bored with everything until the FL shows up, what can I say~
