This manga is a video-game reincarnation story, with a twist! No matter how many times I read an “I was reincarnated as a villainess” story, I’ll never get tired of the trope~

What the manga about?
Aileen Lauren Dautriche’s life changes forever on the day her engagement with the crown prince Cedric Jeanne Elmir is nullified so he can be together with Lilia Rainworth. The event triggers Aileen’s memories from her past life—she has been reincarnated in an otome game as the villainess, who is destined to die in the final act. To prevent her predetermined demise, Aileen has only one option: to court the game’s last boss, Claude Jeanne Elmir—the proclaimed “Demon King” and Cedric’s half-brother—and marry him.
However, it is easier said than done, as Claude distrusts her intentions. Instead of giving up, Aileen adamantly tries to win his heart by helping Claude fulfill his wish: to build peace between humankind and demonic beasts. But time is running out, and it is up to Aileen to change the course of not only her tragic ending but Claude’s as well.

What happens in volume 1?
After waking up in the world of the video game she was playing, Aileen finds herself in the middle of a public engagement dissolution with her princely former-fiance. As she woke up in the body of the female leads rival, she had to quickly come up with a game plan: the enemy of my enemy is my friend. And with that, so goes on to search for the final boss villain of the game.
While she does successfully find the demonic boss, Claude, her game plan turns out to be very out of the box. She proposes to him as soon as she finds him. While he does turn her down (politely in his own way), this begins the relationship between the human Aileen, and the demon prince Claude and his attendants.
Themes that I particularly enjoyed in Volume 1
- strong female lead
- revenge!!
- aloof ML
- ~long haired ML~
Characters

Aileen
Aileen is an audacious and courageous girl. She uses her skills and knowledge from playing the game to try and get the upper hand, but often comes up short handed. She does a lot of out of pocket things, so she’s a really enjoyable female lead – you can’t help but root for her.
Her pleasant and cheery personality often draws those around her closer to her.
Claude
Claude is a very misunderstood demonic prince. He, along with the demons he governs, are shunned by the residents of the kingdom. He tries to come off as a scary demon, however Aileen is able to easily break through his walls. He has ~layers~
Maddies Ratings
Plot
While this manga doesn’t have the most unique plot, I do find it incredibly enjoyable!
Characters
Both Aline and Claude are very fun to watch, and their interactions are very cute. Claude is surprisingly easily flustered, and and Aileen is rather shameless.
Art
While the art style isn’t my favourite, I do think it matches the mood of the manga very well.
Romance
I think it is too early to say whether or not this manga has good romance. I do think it has good potential though!
