What the manga about?

This manga is about a pair of friends who come to terms with their feelings for each other, and how their relationship evolves.

What happens in volume 1?

Sena is a first year high school student, who wants to be able to live a relaxing life. Her secret crush on one of the schools most popular second years, Wataya, however makes this difficult for her. Supressing her feelings for him, she asks him if he doesn’t know anyone who could be a good boyfriend for her, and he kindly sets her up with his friend.

This doesn’t last long, and Sena’s blind date ends with her helping him get back with his ex-girlfriend. On her way home from the date, feeling defeated, she runs into Wataya, who heard how the date went down from his friend.

Touched at how kind Wataya is being, and unable to surpress her feelings any longer, Sena confesses to Wataya. In her confession, she asks him to decline, stating that she just wants her feelings to be known. Wataya rejects the sentiment, insisting that he likes her back, and that they should have a one-month trial relationship.

Characters

Sena

Sena has an extremely go with the flow personality. She’s also very open, and a clearly bad liar. While she obviously has feelings for Wataya for the entirety of the manga, she tries (poorly) to hide them for the sake of her peaceful life.

Wataya

Wataya is an incredibly popular high school boy. He is a bit of an airhead (in my opinion), and doesn’t really comprehend just how popular he is, and just how much his “fans” could scare Sena.

Maddies Ratings

Plot

Rating: 3 out of 5.

I don’t think there’s really anything special about this manga. It’s a pretty typical shoujo manga.

Characters

Rating: 3 out of 5.

I like how Sena prioritizes an stress-free life above all for the majority of this volume! I’m excited to watch how her life goals and personal feelings clash with each other throughout the rest of the series.

Art

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I really like this Manga-ka’s art style!

Romance

Rating: 3 out of 5.

To me, there was absolutely no romance until the last ~15 pages of this volume. It did do a good job of drawing my attention, however.

Lastly

As I like this manga’s author, I’m excited to see where the story will go!
